NACS Incoming President Danny Key, Director, Wingate University Bookstore, Wingate University, N.C. — 'A Year of Transformation'

Danny Key, CCR, director of the Wingate University Bookstore, Wingate University, N.C., will soon take over the helm as president of the National Association of College Stores (NACS) Board of Trustees from outgoing President Carol Miller, director, North Dakota State University Bookstore, North Dakota State University.

 

Key, who is beginning his eighth year at Wingate University after about 25 years in the industry — starting at Catawba College, Salisbury, N.C., and including terms at UNC-Charlotte and Johnson C. Smith University of Charlotte — actually began his education career as a classroom teacher. He devoted about a dozen years to that profession after receiving a bachelor of arts degree in education and music from Free Will Baptist Bible College, Nashville, Tenn. NACS Outgoing President Carol Miller, Director, North Dakota State University Bookstore, North Dakota State University, Fargo, N.D. — Leading By Expanding

As Carol Miller's one-year term as president of the National Association of College Stores (NACS) Board of Trustees comes to a close, the director of the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Bookstore, Fargo, N.D., told College Store Executive that the past 12 months have been a busy period for her and the college bookstore industry.

 

“It was a very busy year with many things going on in our industry,” she observed. “I enjoyed my time out of my store meeting other members and finding out what challenges they have. I worked with stores on developing positive strategies for all of the changes in the industry. I tried to remain very positive about our direction and our role in the marketplace.” Read more...
