For Southern Pines Inn Lodging Manager Charles Wilson and his staff, winning the Air Force Innkeeper Award was truly a team effort.
The 181-room Air Force Inn at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C., took top prize in the Small Category (less than 285 rooms) for its second Innkeeper Award and first since 1998.
Winning the Innkeeper Award earned Wilson and his crew a trip to New York City in November, when the trophy was presented during a ceremony at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center at the International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS). Read more...

With spring and summer on the horizon, a host of outdoor events will take place on military bases around the world during the next few months.
Morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) personnel are already planning a full slate of outdoor events, including barbecues, festivals, concerts and movie screenings. Ensuring that the proper equipment is on hand, such as grills, tables, chairs and tents, is essential to pulling off a successful outdoor event for the benefit of servicemembers and their families.
